Queen Elizabeth National Park Exclusive

This is Ugandas most popular national park with 550 recorded species of birds and 95 mammals. This national park found in western Uganda is one of a kind because it has a variety of activities and is linked to many other national parks and game reserves in western Uganda in so many ways. To get the total picture of this national park one has to spend at least 4 nights and 5 days.

First Day; Arrive at the airport in Entebbe on your preferred date and you will meet a representative from Sabili Tours who will welcome you and see to it that you are transferred to your hotel where you will spend the night.

Second Day; After a good breakfast, start your journey west to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way you can stop by the equator to take pictures or buy some African jewellery before proceeding to Mbarara town. On arrival in Mbarara, you will have lunch and continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Have a game drive in the evening when you arrive if you are not too tired. Later on go to the lodge and relax as you prepare for the next day.

Third Day; Wake up as early as 6.30am to go for the early morning game drive. You will be able to see elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, oribi, hyenas, warthogs, Jackson Hartebeest, water buck, lions, leopard, and jackal among others. The cats are mainly seen in the wee hours of the morning and are much easier to spot in areas where there is not much activity. Most of the animals can sense when the preditors are around so our experienced guide will take you to these places to find the animals. Have an afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga Channel after lunch and enjoy the site of birds like the Greater Flamingo, Lesser Flamingo, broad tailed warbler, Knob Billed Duck, White Faced Whistling Duck, Pink Backed Pelican, Great white Pelican, African fish Eagle, Southern Red Bishop among others. Watch mammals like the hippos, the elephants, buffaloes, warthogs cooling off and with some luck you will also see a crocodile. Return to the Lodge in the evening and remininse on the day

Fourth Day; Today you will visit the Kyambura Gorge and do chimpanzee trekking. This is a half day activity and this stretch is well known for chimpanzees because those in Queen Elizabeth are found here in this potion that is in the far eastern corner of the National Park. Some of the chimpanzees include the Black and White Colobus Monkey, Red tailed monkeys, Olive Baboons and Vervet monkeys. After the trekking you have lunch and then go and see some crater lakes within the national park.

Fifth Day; After breakfast, drive to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth called the Ishasha sector. This area is also near the border between Uganda and Congo. Do a game drive on arrival and watch the lions relax on the tree branches. This area is famous for its tree climbing lions but you can also find other animals during the game drive like large herds of Buffaloes, Antelopes and some hippos in the area. Have lunch in the wild as you enjoy looking at the Ishasha sector. Retire to your accommodation in the evening.

Sixth Day; If you were not able to see the lions the day before, wake up and have a quick game drive and then set off to Kampala and finally Entebbe.
