Day 1: Arrival

Meet and greet our Sabili Tours’ representative on arrival at Entebbe International airport.

Day 2: Buganda cultural trail                                        

Today after breakfast you will be driven to Kasubi tombs the burial site for Buganda’s kings. Twekobe palace and Buganda parliament. Dinner and overnight at Golf Course Hotel/Cassia Lodge/ Tandem Hotel

Day 3: Visit to the source of the Nile and Ssezibwa falls

After breakfast you will be driven along Jinja road to Mbalala. Visit the Ssezibwa falls that were born naturally by a woman where an onsite guide will take you around and tell the legend behind this Buganda cultural site. Proceed to Jinja for lunch then have a boat ride to the source of the Nile. Dinner and overnight at Golf Course Hotel/Cassia Lodge/ Tandem Hotel

Day 4:  Transfer from Kampala to Lake Bunyonyi, Kabale

Leave Kampala after breakfast then drive through Masaka stopping over for lunch in Mbarara town. Proceed to Kabale –‘the Switzerland of Uganda arriving late evening.

Day 5, 6, 7&8 visit the home of Edirisa

Spend these days visiting the Batwa pygmies, Punishment Island, the museum, and experiencing the lives of local Bakiga.

Day 9: transfer back to Kampala

NSHENYI CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

Region: western Uganda

Location: 2 hours drive from Mbarara town

Activities you can engage in to have a complete cultural experience are multiple and include the following:

  • Learn how to milk a traditional long horned Ankole cow
  • Join in the traditional pastoralist’s  routine of watering cattle
  • Enjoy the percussion of traditionally made guitars and drums whilst enjoying cultural performances of the Kinyakore cultural dance
  • A traditional spa can be experienced with the Karaya showers granting you an opportunity to relax and unwind.
  • Learn the process of churning or local production of ghee from milk
  • Experience the daily life of a local Ugandan school by taking a lesson with children at a nearby education centre
  • Learn how to graze cattle and experience the complexity of this art.
  • Experience a traditional African market by taking your pick in randomly visiting any of the villages on a market day
  • Rock painting can help you put your artistic nature to work in the savannah grasslands of Nshenyi village.
  • You will also put your archeological tact at work with experiences of visiting Henry Morton Stanley’ s monument
  • Have a community tour to visit the local Bahima. Learn and understand the nativity of this tribe
  • An opportunity for the ardent birder to discover  the birds of the savannah
  • The Mpoma hills will give you an opportunity to maximize your hiking skills whilst enjoying the beautiful scenery
